I’ve been sick for the past month. A whole month! No idea what I have, but I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.
1. I watched the movie four days ago, have been playing the soundtrack on repeat for three, and picked up the book yesterday, so it’s safe to say I’m in love with Into the Wild.

I watched this movie for two reasons. First, I stupidly misread the title as Into the Woods and thought it was the movie adaptation of said Young Adult novel, thus, I was expecting a fairy tale of sorts. Second, I wanted to see what kind of actress Kristen Stewart, recently cast as Bella in Twilight, was.
I did not expect the story of the Chris McCandless, a recent college graduate from a well-to-do family who gave his entire savings to charity, cut ties with his family, and set off to survive on his own and discover himself in the Alaska wilderness. I definitely did not expect a story that would get under my skin or touch on so many emotions. It slid easily into my Favourite Movies list.
Highly recommended to everyone, whether you think Chris was naive and foolish, or his story changes your life. It’s out on DVD tomorrow (March 4).
I have to send some serious “I must learn backpacking!” vibes in Cat’s direction.
2. While I may not be backpacking anytime soon, I will be visiting New York April 19th with a friend who is auditioning for AMDA. I suppose NY is not that far from my little PA town, but I’ve only been there once before. The June following 9th grade with my French Club, in the summer that became 9/11.
I had a lot of fun doing not much at all.
AMDA will put me in Manhattan, which is exactly where I want to be. Hopefully my friend’s mother will not make it her responsibility to take me somewhere “fun” or act as a tour guide. I really just want to meander around.
3. On the other side of the States: They repainted Elliott Smith’s wall. ♥
4. I ran into the headline “Muse frontman Matt Bellamy has a weirdo stalker.” and my first thought (no lie) was “How did they know?!” But no, apparently Matt has a male weirdo stalker. An Irishman who dresses in military garb and leaves bags of strange things, like bottles and poetry about the end of the world, outside his home. In short, a much weirder person than I.

An Irish stalker, just in time for St. Patrick’s Day! Seeing as my own Matt-obsession (Mattsession?) has not yet been outed, to myself I say: Keep On Stalkin’!
5. I’m almost tempted to start watching Grey’s Anatomy. Just because its soundtrack is amazing.
The Riches is returning on the 18th. So excited. This was definitely my favourite show last year.
1. Eddie Vedder – Hard Sun
2. Tori Amos – I Can’t See New York
3. Elliott Smith – Twilight
4. Muse – Space Dementia
5. Grace Potter – Falling Or Flying
